Dr. Nicola Parr Appointed Solano County Superintendent of Schools


Solano County, CA – The Solano County Board of Education announced the appointment of Dr. Nicola Parr as Interim Solano County Superintendent of Schools at a public board meeting on July 23, 2025. 

Dr. Parr brings more than 25 years of experience in public education, including over a decade of leadership at the county level focused on student services and student mental health. Prior to her appointment, she served as Senior Director of Student Services and Educational Options at Solano County Office of Education (SCOE), overseeing school-based mental health programs, multi-tiered systems of support for students and families, and other initiatives that support at-promise youth.

Dr. Parr held various leadership positions at SCOE and Vacaville Unified School District, where she supported alternative education, foster and homeless youth services, and multi-agency collaboration. Her experience also includes teaching and counseling roles in special education settings, as well as administrative
leadership across alternative and independent study programs.

Dr. Parr’s career reflects a deep commitment to creating inclusive systems that meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students, particularly those navigating complex life circumstances.
 
She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Capella University, as well as a master’s degree, and a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University.

As County Superintendent, Dr. Parr will oversee countywide education programs, provide support to school districts, and continue advancing student success across Solano County.
