The Irene Larsen Center is a special education center that primarily services children, birth to five years of age, with special education needs. There are four infant-toddler programs and six preschool programs located on the campus. The Irene Larsen Center also houses a full inclusion ChildStart Program (ages 3 to 5 years) and a post-secondary program for young adults with developmental disabilities.

IRENE LARSEN ME TOO PROGRAMS
The Me Too Program is a comprehensive early intervention program serving children from birth to age three with special needs, and their families. Children who are enrolled in this program have been referred through the North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) Warmline (1-800-646-3268).
As part of California’s Interagency Early Start Program, special education services provided are based on the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), in coordination with other agencies providing early intervention services to eligible children and their families enrolled in the Me Too Program.
The program provides developmental assessments, home visits, parent-toddler classes, speech and language sessions or classes, parent education and support, and other services necessary to meet the child’s individual needs which have been identified in the IFSP.

IRENE LARSEN PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
The preschool classes provide specialized instruction for children from 3 to 5 years of age who have developmental delays in any of the following areas: receptive and expressive language, communication, motor, social-adaptive, and/or cognitive functioning. Programs are provided for children with intensive and non-intensive needs. Children qualify for these programs through the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process for Special Education.
The intensive programs service students from the Vacaville, Travis and Dixon Unified School Districts. The non-intensive programs service students from the Vacaville Unified School District.
Services are designed to meet the specific needs of each child through the Individualized Education Program (IEP). Specific teaching and behavioral strategies, communication methods, adapted materials, and guided practice are used to enable preschoolers with special needs to learn and practice new skills. The program provides children with special needs and typically developing children the opportunity to learn and play together in an integrated setting. The curriculum is developmentally based and encourages each child to develop to their fullest ability.

IRENE LARSEN ADULT PROGRAM
The Post-Secondary Program serves young adults from 18 to 22 years of age with developmental disabilities. The goal of the program is to assist these students in learning essential life skills as they transition to adulthood.
The program focuses on the following areas: functional life skills, community training, social-interactional skills, adaptive functioning, vocational training, recreational skills, and awareness of community agencies.
