SCOE Workforce Development Employment Network
The Solano County Office of Education – Workforce Development Employment Network (EN) is a part of Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Ticket to Work program. The Ticket to Work program is a free, voluntary program available to individuals who receive Social Security Disability benefits. The goal of the program is available to offer assistance to Social Security Disability recipients who wish to return to the workforce. The Ticket to Work program makes it possible for individuals to test their ability to work without losing their benefits.
Employment Networks assist Social Security Disability recipients who participate in the Ticket to Work program. The Workforce Development EN helps by providing free career counseling, job placement, and on-going support once a disability recipient begins working. If you receive Social Security Disability benefits and you are a client of the Department of Rehabilitation and would like to re-enter the workforce, the Workforce Development EN can provide you with the services you need to help you obtain or maintain employment. The Workforce Development EN contracts with the Social Security Administration to provide or coordinate the delivery of such services. The services that are provided by Social Security employment networks are free of charge to participants in the Ticket to Work program.
NOTE: Employment Networks have access to the basic contact information for the disability benefit recipients in their areas and often reach out to these individuals to offer their services. It is important to note that Employment Networks are not required to serve everyone. They can choose which services they offer, how many people they are capable of serving, and what geographical area they serve. An individual in the Ticket to Work program can choose which Employment Network they work with and can switch to a different Employment Network at any time.
