SCOE’s Labrecque Earns Statewide Honors

Solano County Office of Education congratulates Susan Labrecque who was named the 2020 Career Technical Education Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). ACSA’s award program honors individuals for their significant contributions to education through outstanding performance and achievements.

Susan Labrecque joined Solano County Office of Education in 1995 as a vocational specialist to support the employment needs of students with different abilities. She is now the director of resource development and transition services. In this capacity, Susan oversees Workforce Development and Career Technical Education programs. Outside of her role at SCOE, Susan also serves the United States as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. 

Susan was honored for having great passion for improving student outcomes for students of different abilities and out-of-school youth. Her expertise and leadership have been instrumental in securing consistent funding for services and for creating increasing opportunities for Solano County students. Her reputation for excellence, accountability and transparency has been instrumental in establishing a rich network of partnerships within Solano County and throughout the state. 

“We are thrilled to see Susan recognized as an ACSA Administrator of the Year. She is an inspiring woman who is a true advocate for students, and a tremendous partner for staff, SCOE and the US Air Force,” remarked Solano County Superintendent of Schools Lisette Estrella-Henderson.

Labrecque was also recognized by ACSA for consistently being committed to equity in student outcomes and educational opportunities. She has been a strong advocate for students' rights to quality instruction and has been innovative in removing barriers for students. Susan has a deep commitment to inclusive decision making with students’ best interests in mind.

Also noteworthy are Susan’s positive energy and work ethic that motivate others to accept challenges and overcome difficulties. Susan has incredible determination to pursue ambitious goals on behalf of students.  She is an exemplary leader for her team, for SCOE, the school districts, charters and agencies devoted to positive student outcomes in our community.
