As the Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) closes a demanding but productive school year, I want to recognize SCOE’s employees for the dedication, talent, energy, and care they bring to work each day. Partners

$1.5m in grant funding has been awarded to Solano COE to provide educator training, school based social-emotional support services, support for homeless students, support for students in job-readiness skills development, and youth development activities and training including tobacco use prevention, civic engagement, and citizenship

Attendance Matters Raise the awareness of school personnel, parents, guardians, caregivers, community partners, and local business of the effects of chronic absenteeism and truancy and other challenges associated with poor attendance.

$75kin grant funding is available to support Solano County educators and Artists to participate in the Solano COE Integrated Learning Specialist Program (ILSP)

71% of our Solano County schools have been trained in Positive Behavoir Intervention Supports (PBIS)


Solano County Office of Education Hosts Backpack Drive for the Homeless and Foster Youth in Solano County

The Solano County Office of Education has partnered with several local agencies to address the growing needs of homeless and foster youth in Solano County. Over the last school year, Solano County schools have identified 1,583 homeless students and 377 foster students. Homeless youth are often unaccompanied and couch surfing from home-to-home, living on the streets, in shelters, or staying temporarily with family or friends due to a loss of housing or financial problems. Foster youth often reside with a relative, in a foster home, or in a group home.

Solano County Office of Education Adult Transition Students KTXL Fox40 News Interview with Filmmaker Joey Travolta

SCOE Adult Transition students, Zachary Herman and Sean Kielberg, had the opportunity to work with movie maker Joey Travolta of Inclusion Films at a camp in Stockton. The team had an interview on XTXL FOX40 News and shared their experiences. Mr. Travolta started Inclusion Films in 2007 which teaches individuals with development disabilities in five dedicated production studios throughout California. Mr. Travolta’s film crew travels the country doing short film camps for children and teens with autism.

Solano County Office of Education Hosts UC Davis C-STEM Girls in Robotics Leadership (GIRL) Camps

The Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) is partnering with UC Davis Computing-Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (C-STEM) to bring Girls in Robotics Leadership (GIRL) Camps to Solano County for free.

These camps are focused on introducing and motivating middle school girls to learn computing and STEM concepts through a fun and robotics-based curriculum.
