ABOUT US

The Student and Program Support Department provides facilitation and coordination services for homeless and foster students throughout Solano County. The Department collaborates with school districts through the countywide Homeless and Foster Youth District Education Liaisons' meeting which includes all the relevant stakeholders, and where best practices are shared and challenges are discussed. The Department also provides training for schools throughout the county for the implementation of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) initiative and collaborates with the Solano County Behavioral Health Department to coordinate the provision of counseling services to students under the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). Additionally, the Department provides Positive School Climate services which includes social emotional learning supports to students throughout the county.
 
 
Wellness centers are welcoming spaces for students to de-stress and practice coping strategies that impact school performance.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach family members, guardians, school staff, friends, and caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who are experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.

FREECARE COLLABORATIVE

The Solano County Non-IDEA Freecare Collaborative (“Freecare Collaborative”) consists of individual representatives of local education agencies (LEAs) and other community stakeholders, whose primary mission shall be to deliberate upon matters involving the delivery of medically necessary services to eligible pupils in Solano County and to direct the reinvestment of funds reimbursed under the Freecare Billing Option Program (BOP).

PROVIDING ADULT THERAPEUTIC HEALTH (PATH) PROGRAM

The P.A.T.H. program provides adult case management, counseling, and psycho-education workshops to the community of Vallejo who are low income. The focus of the program is linkage to community services and resources. The aim of the program is to improve overall behavioral health outcomes by increasing access to services, education, and social support services.  This program is funded under a 3-year grant, and the pilot year is in Vallejo for the first year. In the future, this program will expand to provide service to low income residents of the Fairfield-Suisun area.
