Betting on Our Future (BOOF) provides opportunities for young people to raise awareness of the signs, behaviors, and consequences of underage gambling.

 

The BOOF multi-media campaign is designed to empower youth to raise awareness of problem gambling and make positive changes in their community. Youth awardees are responsible for all aspects of the project; including script development, recording, editing, and distribution of public service announcements to convey the risks, warning signs and resources available for underage problem gambling.

 

Youth also create gambling themed graphics (artwork) for printed media targeted for adults to communicate the risk factors, warning signs, and resources for problem gambling.

In Solano County there are currently two youth groups participating in the 2022-23 BOOF project, the Solano Youth Coalition and Vanden High School Academic Decathlon. The BOOF mini grants are open not exclusive to Friday Night Live Chapters and is open to any youth group.
