In partnership with California Department of Rehabilitation and North Bay Regional Center, Solano County Office of Education is hosting a Filmmakers Academy. The Film Camp teaches young adults who are 18-24 years old the principles of filmmaking. Within the one-week session, participants develop a script, act, and record their film with professional filmmaking support and equipment. The program is focused on developing life and job skills, and encouraging communication, confidence, collaboration, and independence.
 
Date: July 27, 2026 - July 31, 2026 (M-F only)
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 
Must be able to attend the entire week of camp
 
Location: Golden Hills Educational Center, 2460 Clay Bank Road, Fairfield, CA 94533
 
Application deadline: May 18, 2026*
 
Interviews begin: May 18, 2026
 
Eligibility: 
 
  • Neurodiverse young adults between the ages of 18–24
  • Individuals currently receiving services from North Bay Regional Center or the Department of Rehabilitation
  • Applicants who can communicate independently, follow multi-step instructions, and demonstrate positive behavior (must not impede or cause harm to self or others)
 
*Note: Spaces are limited and priority will be given to eligible first-time applicants.
