Travis Spark Challenge
SAVE THE DATE! Get ready to ignite your creativity, collaborate with innovators, and compete for a trophy! The Travis Spark Challenge is returning in April 2027. Organized by the Solano County Office of Education and the Travis Air Force Base (TAFB) Phoenix Spark Program, this exciting team competition invites high schoolers to design and present solutions to real-world challenges facing the base.
Whether you love engineering, strategy, or creative problem-solving, this is your chance to make a tangible impact and network directly with Travis AFB personnel.
Challenge Details at a Glance
- When: A Friday in April 2027 (Exact date announcement coming soon!)

How It Works
- The Reveal (Winter 2027): Three real-world challenge options will be released this winter. Your team will select one to tackle.
- The Prep: Brainstorm, design, and polish your solution with your team before the event.
- The Pitch: On event day, you'll head to the base to present your ideas directly to TAFB personnel.
Registration Opens: January 2027 Slots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important Requirements to Keep in Mind:
- Students: A signed field trip waiver will be required to participate.
- Adult Sponsors: Because the event takes place on an active military base, adult supervisors must complete a base access form (requiring a Social Security Number and birthdate) prior to the event.
Stay tuned! Full challenge prompts and registration links will be posted right here this winter. Have your team ready to secure a spot the moment registration opens in January!
